My entry for New York State Data Visualization challenge

Theme: The central focus of our data visualization is on 4 key sectors which are important for a better human well-being. They are:- Education, Work, Housing and Health. These four sectors are also among the important pillars for measuring the American Human Development Index. For citizens to lead a happy life; these indicators play a pivotal role in forming up the city, the state and the nation as a whole. Better educational access from root level leads to better work opportunities and can create positive impact on living and health conditions. The aim of this visualization is to provide insights that can be helpful for analysts, observers in understanding borough’s strengths, issues, opportunities and help in working towards a better future.

Runner-up prize in Transport Data visualization challenge 2015, India

About the challenge

Association of State Road Undertakings (ASRTU) had released the data sets on physical and financial performance of all the state road transport undertakings in India for the year 2013-2014. Data sets included many topics like fleet strength, number of buses per passenger, staff operating, non-operating cost, productivity ratio, accidents across states and metropolitan cities etc.

The challenge was to analyse these data sets, extract key insights and come up with infographic/data visualization which depicts the performance of SRTUs.

The contest was organised by Embarq, WRI India and ASRTU, in association with Ministry of Roads Transport and Highways.
